Leading Change: Advancing Clean Energy Workforce Solutions through the CEJA Table

In Q4, the Chicago Jobs Council (CJC)-led CEJA Table took significant steps toward advancing clean energy workforce development across Illinois. As the table’s convener, CJC guided the transition into geographically focused working groups–Chicago South and Chicago West/Southwest. These groups collaborated to streamline the CEJA program workflow, from navigators’ intake to hubs’ bridge programming, clean energy training, and ultimately, employment opportunities.

Spring Legislative Session Skills Agenda Update

Our advocacy at the Skills Agenda Table has also brought together diverse partners to address pressing challenges and drive systemic change.  The Illinois General Assembly concluded its spring legislative session. The Skills for Good Jobs coalition advocated for legislation that equitably dedicates Illinois resources to workforce development, eliminates structural employment barriers, promotes good jobs and strong community support, and increases research, data sharing, and transparency across state agencies.

Building Capacity, Creating Impact: Q4 Training Highlights

At the Chicago Jobs Council (CJC), supporting workforce workers is key to making lasting change. In Q4 FY2025, we held 22 training sessions—12 open to the public and 10 tailored—covering trauma-informed care, AI in workforce development, and career readiness. These sessions had 319 different attendees and over 290 seats filled, providing learning that helped workers use new methods and tools in their jobs.
