Policy & Economic Structures:

  • Equitable Economic Policy: Redesigning tax structures, business incentives, and investment strategies to prioritize wealth-building opportunities for Black and Latino households.

  • Housing as Wealth: Promoting homeownership and wealth accumulation for communities of color through new housing policies.

  • Financial Inclusion with Safeguards: Increasing access to responsible financial services for under-resourced communities while preventing predatory practices.

Workforce & Skills:

  • Quality Jobs as the Foundation: Creating a policy environment in Chicago where quality jobs with living wages, benefits, and advancement opportunities become the norm.

  • Targeted Job Training: Aligning job training programs with the skills needed for high-growth, well-paying sectors, prioritizing access for historically excluded communities.

  • Employer Accountability & Incentives: Encouraging employers to pay living wages, provide quality benefits, and actively promote diversity and inclusion.

Community Engagement & The Bigger Picture:

  • Community-Driven Solutions: Ensuring impacted communities are at the forefront of designing and implementing policy solutions.

  • Measuring Progress: Tracking and making transparent the effectiveness of policies aimed at closing the racial wealth gap.

  • Historical Reckoning: Understanding and addressing the historical context of discriminatory policies while building a more equitable future.
