Farewell Anita Jenke and Sheryl Holman

This Fiscal Year, we are saying goodbye to two beloved board members, Annita Jenke and Sheryl Holman, whom we honored at our annual meeting.

Sheryl Holman joined the CJC Board of Directors in 2001 and Anita Jenke in 2003. Their leadership guided CJC through a recession and a pandemic. They’ve helped forge connections with numerous partners across the workforce ecosystem.

Anita worked closely with CJC, even before being a board member, with Whitney Smith, Bob Wordlaw, and Bill Leavy to advocate for JTED creation and funding in 1998. Most recently, she has led the board's Development Committee to help bring about various events that unite the community for a meaningful and joyous celebration on behalf of CJC.

Sheryl Holman shared these words about her time at CJC, “CJC goals have coincided with my vision for the future of workforce development while identifying and fighting for the institutional structures that have all but stagnated the hopes of those that need the services.  And discovering it is not that difficult to be successful in employment training and job placement.  The system shoots us in the foot, and it makes us dance in a pathway to solutions that can’t be ignored.  I will never leave CJC, I will always be involved.  It has been one of my most rewarding learning and giving experiences.  It is not ‘goodbye’, it is ‘see you at next month’s policy meeting.’”

We are so grateful to Anita and Sheryl for all their hard work and support over the years!
