New Report: “Pathways, Not Punishment: A Roadmap for SNAP Employment and Training in Illinois”

At the Chicago Jobs Council, our vision is that people – regardless of where they start or where they’ve been – can access employment as a pathway out of poverty.

We also know that many people face barriers, such as food insecurity, and that SNAP is a critical anti-hunger program in the US.

That’s why we wrote this report on the potential impact that the loss of the SNAP ABAWD waiver might have and how SNAP E&T can be one concrete strategy for responding to that grim scenario in Illinois.
