The Social IMPACT Research Center released its annual Illinois Poverty Report on January 30, 2014. This report shows that 14.7% of Illinoisans, or nearly 1.9 million people, were living at or below the poverty line in 2012. The workforce development system must continue to meet the needs of these individuals struggling with economic security.
