CJC launched the WIRE in 2007 recognizing that while there is a wealth of existing data, information and research related to the field of workforce development, this information is often inaccessible to providers, advocates and other stakeholders, as it is fragmented, narrowly distributed, and difficult to obtain or utilize. The WIRE addresses these issues by being a centralized resource for distilled, relevant information that is valuable to the day-to-day work of those engaged in programs and policies for low-income, low-skilled individuals. Additionally, the WIRE generates original resources specifically designed for and informed by the local stakeholder community.
CJC will work to achieve the following outcomes:
- Enhancement of WIRE’s user-friendliness, navigability and visual appeal
- A new WIRE page housing profiles of workforce development policies and programs
- A more cohesive and updated WIRE section on publicly funded programs data
- A formalized WIRE Steering Committee
